  On December 19, SBS’s variety show stars celebrated each other and their programs at the  2020 SBS Entertainment Awards . The ceremony, which was hosted by  Lee Seung Gi ,  Shin Dong Yup , and ASTRO’s  Cha Eun Woo , took place with COVID-19 restrictions in place, such as not holding a red carpet event, having attendees wear masks in the audience, setting up plastic barriers between attendees, and handing out awards with minimal hand-to-hand contact. The Daesang (Grand Prize) this year went to  Kim Jong Kook , who is a fixed cast member on “Running Man,” which celebrated its 10th anniversary this year, and “ My Ugly Duckling ,” where he opened up about his healthy living habits and his thoughts on dating and marriage. This is his first Daesang at an Entertainment Awards, although he has won multiple times as a singer.   The  2020 SBS Entertainment Awards  announced its lineup of artists for special performances! With this year marking the 30th anniversary of SBS’s founding, the theme for the 2020 ceremony will be “connection” and it’s said that legendary variety stars will be making surprise appearances. Artists will also be taking the stage for special performances. The show includes performances by  Jessi ,  Lovelyz , and the Top 6 from season two of “K-Trot in Town.” There will also be a collaboration performance by  Sung Si Kyung , Yoon Do Hyun,  Kim Jong Kook , Jannabi, and  Sandara Park .  Park Jin Young  and  Sunmi  will be teaming up for a duet dance as well.   Upcoming drama “Secret Royal Inspector” (literal title) shared an intriguing glimpse of  Kim Myung Soo ,  Kwon Nara , and  Son Byung Ho ! Set in the Joseon dynasty, “Secret Royal Inspector” tells the story of a secret royal inspector who goes undercover in the provinces to bring justice, uncover corruption, and solve the people’s problems. Kim Myung Soo will play Sung Yi Kyum, a public official at the Hongmungwan (Office of Special Advisors) who becomes appointed to the position of secret royal inspector. Kwon Nara will star as Hong Da In, a  damo  (a woman who works for a Joseon government office) who goes undercover as a  gisaeng  (a courtesan trained in music and the arts). On December 18, the drama unveiled stills of Sung Yi Kyum and Hong Da In’s first meeting. Sung Yi Kyum is a government official by day and a gambler at night, while Hong Da In stays at a  gisaeng  house to get more information about high-ranking government officials.   JTBC’s “ Live On ” has released another behind-the-scenes look at the drama! “Live On” is a romance drama set in the broadcasting club of Seo Yeon High School.  Jung Da Bin  plays Baek Ho Rang, the school celebrity and social media influencer who enters the club with suspicious motives, while NU’EST’s  Minhyun  plays Go Eun Taek, the head of the club who is strict and a perfectionist. The video opens with the main cast preparing to film the school festival scene. During break, Yang Hye Ji draws the different drama characters on the computer. Minhyun asks to see the picture she drew of him and says, “I have high expectations for it.” After checking out the drawing, he tells the making-of camera, “I ran away while she was in the middle of drawing it because it definitely didn’t look like me.   tvN’s weekend drama “ Mr. Queen ” shared new stills of  Shin Hye Sun  and  Kim Jung Hyun  ahead of the upcoming episode! “Mr. Queen” is a historical fantasy-comedy drama about a man from modern times whose soul gets trapped in the body of a queen from the Joseon dynasty. Shin Hye Sun stars as Kim So Yong, the Joseon queen with the soul of Blue House chef Jang Bong Hwan trapped inside her.   All five of the counters are joining in a big fight on OCN’s “The Uncanny Counter”! Based on a webtoon, “The Uncanny Counter” is about demon hunters called “counters” who disguise themselves as employees of a noodle restaurant and hunt down demons who have come to Earth in pursuit of eternal life. Spoilers In episode six, the counters began piecing together the clues about the incident that took place seven years ago. Ga Mo Tak ( Yoo Joon Sang ) confirmed that Noh Chang Gyu (Jeon Jin Oh) was the person who tried to kill him through Do Ha Na ( Kim Sejeong )’s psychometric powers. He also found out that Noh Hang Gyu (Kim Seung Hoon), who is the older brother of Noh Chang Gyu, was also wanted on charges of special violence.
